Chapter 1 "Sophie". Sophie describes her feelings towards her mother and her aunt. What does she tell the reader and how does she feel about each of them?
Sophie explains the traits of her mother, a few were:
- obsessive
- mean minded
- controlling
- vain
- jealousy towards Fran
- Sophie blamed her mother for an incident that occurred. (pg. 3)
- Didn't want to stay at home with her parents
Sophie wasn't enthusiastic about going to see Fran
- selfishness - only wanting to be by herself and not having to keep care of Sophie
- feels like she should keep care of her because she knows Sophie's troubled
wants her sisters forgiveness by taking Sophie but then again wants her own space
