Cinderella
In the fairytale Cinderella, the women are represented as pushovers and who value marriage as they would drop anything to be the wife of the prince. This is shown in the fairytale because Cinderella chose the one night to get out of her rags and go to the ball, just to dance with the prince and try and get his attention with the obvious intentions of marriage. This means that Cinderella wants a husband and possibly wants the prince because of his power over others. It's shown that women are represented as pushovers as Cinderella is their house slave for years upon years and doesn't do anything about the fact that she is too, apart of that family and shouldn't be treated any differently to the others. This does however change for one night when the whole family goes to the ball and tell's Cinderella to stay home and clean when she sneaks out to the ball instead and dances with the Prince.
Planning -
In Cinderella, women are represented as:
- A prized possession/an object - the prince wanted to posses her
- valued marriage - only going to the ball to catch the eye of the prince (hopefully get married)
- pushover - lets her step mother and sisters walk all over her (slave)
- helpless
- valuing beauty over everything else - the step mother and sisters attitude to Cinderella
- cruel - the step mother and step sisters towards Cinderella
representations of women - Cinderella
1. Cinderella is consider very beautiful even though she is the slave of the home. The two step sisters and step mother envy her beauty so much that they don't let her do anything other than being their slave and clean the house.
2. Cinderella is 16
3. Cinderella I think, isn't in a position of power at her home because she is made to cook and clean the house and have no privileges at all, not even being allowed to leave home while her step sisters have all power over her. I do however think she gets a little power when she sneaks out to the ball and gets to dance with the prince.
4. Cinderella is the house slave even though she's apart of the family. She cooks and cleans all day, everyday, never being able to go out and socialize like her step sisters do.
5. Some personal characteristics include:
- scared
- pushover
- independent
- lonely
6. A fairy godmother appears before Cinderella and helps her become beautiful by making her a gorgeous dress and a waiting carriage to take her to the ball to dance with the prince.
7. I think that if males saw her when she was in her rags and cleaning down in the basement, they wouldn't think she was beautiful, but when she's all dolled up and goes to the ball, they would think she was stunning. The prince, at the ball thinks she's beautiful, therefore he dances with her, and even after the ball, tries to look for her with her lost slipper.
8. Her step sisters and step mother know she's beautiful so they treat her like she's nothing so they feel like they're more beautiful. They are jealous of her because the prince wants her and not them.
9. She is rewarded by getting married to the prince. This happens because she went to the ball and danced with him, he obviously fell for her beauty and wanted to find her and marry her.
10. In the end, Cinderella is rewarded after her long years of being the slave of the house, being treated like dirt and nothing and being pushed around by her 'family' by getting married to the prince.

Comparing Characters
The two characters that I compared were Miley Cyrus from 'The Hannah Montana Movie' and Ellie from 'Tomorrow When The War Began'. These two characters show trates of them being similar and them be very different. Some things that we found similar about the two characters were that the both are the same age in the movie, them being 17, we also realized that they are both your typical farm girl but the difference is that Miley is a typical far girl but when she turns into Hannah Montana she changes into a famous singer who everyone adores and admires. Both characters have, in their own sense, a deal of power over others. Miley/Hannah Montana has power because she is a famous singer and is a role model to many young girls while Ellie has power because she is put as leader and in charge of her group to help them through their tuff times at war. Ellie too, is a role model to the others in her group because as leader, they know she can rise to the standards and portray in what she has to do to help them. I, myself, think that the both characters were shown as good role models because they both do what seems right at the time, weather it be Miley showing the world she's Hannah Montana or it be Ellie decided if they stay and hide or go out and fight, they both show courage and determination to try to make a difference to the society.
